I got my raise approved. It only amounts to about and extra 30 per week, but hey, money is money.

I got my new car today. I had originally chosen a Saturn SC1, basic model. The car had to be shipped in, but they had promised me it would only be a day or so. Five days later I still didn’t have a car, so today I bought a brand new, fully loaded Honda Civic EX for 400 less than what the plain Saturn would have cost me.

A friend of mine has a job that requires him to travel for months at a time. He doesn’t have a home here in FL anymore, so he needs a place to store his stuff. Today he dropped some stuff off at my place. His “stuff” is a brand new 27 inch screen TV, DVD player, and stereo system. Woo-hoo! :slight_smile:

I’m trying not to be TOO happy…I’m afraid something bad will happen!

I am a fine art photographer.

Many years ago my best friend’s girlfriend (also a photographer) was moving out of her house and into an apartment with her brother. She wouldn’t have a darkroom in the new place, and wondered if I would mind terribly if she left her enlarger and some other equipment at my place(!)

She had a Beseler 23C, a classic enlarger, plus a timer, trays and all sorts of stuff. At the time (1987 or so) I was working with a crappy little Omega and getting very discouraged with my results.
With this enlarger I could make bigger prints, as well as work with a decent quality lens. My results, and attitude, began improving.

The upshot of it all is that a few months later she and my friend break up and she changes apartments twice and I lose all track of her!

In the ten years since, I’ve done some of my best work ever on that enlarger. So, if you’re out there somewhere, Thanks, Nadine!

(Oh, and for those of you who may think it was unethical of me to keep the equipment, I tried to get a hold of her, really I did. Hell, I wanted to go out with her!
And, the equipment in question had previously belonged to another boyfriend of hers, it had been his father’s.
Besides, if I had gotten it back to her it never would have been put to good use.)

You’d think that Superman would be a good person to invite to a barbecue but trust me, he’s not. I mean, sure he can cook the hot dogs fast with his heat vision, but they all taste of charred eye boogers.

I recently scrapped AOL in favor of Juno. When I made the switch I re-registered. I didn’t think I would need to make a formal announcement about the name change. I knew everyone would figure it out for themselves. You’re a smart group. :wink:
