Very healthy celebrity relationships in real life

The weight classes don’t go that high. Beyond categorization, like those really tough climbs in the Tour de France.

Jane Seymour was on an old Dame Edna show, flogging herbook on romance.

Dame Edna asked her ‘You’ve been successfully married three times. What’s your secret?’

So add Jane Seymour to the list.

Well, she didn’t have to worry about him losing his looks.

I saw an interview with them about their old act. They held hands while sitting together after 60 years. In real life Jerry Stiller seems like a really sweet guy.

Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.

Married in 1957 and together until Eydie died in 2013.

It is impossible to tell if a couple is happy just because they are married a long time. I’ve known some dysfunctional couples that have been together for decades and who would be happier divorced.

Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen seem content though, but I have no idea honestly.

George Takei and Brad Altman Takei have been together for 28 years.

All the guys in Rush have had very long-term marriages. Geddy Lee married his wife Nancy in 1976 and they’re still together (and he says they’re very happy) and Alex Lifeson got married in 1975, at which time they already had a 5-year-old son. Still together too, although he admits it’s been tumultuous at times, with both parties being responsible for that. :dubious: It sounds like one of those things where they stay together because they “get” each other, which could mean anything.

Neil Peart never married his first “wife”; they were together for 22 years and were considered common-law by Canadian standards. Their only child died in 1997, and she followed 11 months later. :frowning: He remarried in 2000 and they have a young daughter now.

Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee were married over 50 years.

Pearl Bailey almost destroyed her career in the early 1950s when she married white drummer Louis Bellson, but they were together until her death about 40 years later.

How about Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy?

Pat Benatar and Neal Giraldo have been married for 33 years.

A while back, she was asked what kept them together, and she replied, “Love, baby.”

While the Obamas aren’t what most people would think of as celebrities, I personally think they appear to be happy together. (cue up Turtles song)

Bill and Hillary Clinton married 40 years

I officially don’t understand this thread.

[Tammy Wynette]Stand by your Man[/Tammy Wynette]

Felicity Huffman and William H Macy (or, to steal from Colbert, Melicty H Muffman) have been married since '97 and seem to be doing fine.

Not quite as long term…but Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard seem to be happy and healthy together.

I don’t know if they qualify as “healthy” either. There are longstanding rumors that Travolta is secretly gay, and Preston stays with him because of their Scientologist beliefs.

Anybody that is married knows this to be the case. See below…

I’m sure they are a happy couple. Have they even lived in the same state in the last decade?

I don’t pay attention to rumors. Especially since Travolta had a seemingly normal relationship with Diane Hyland in the late 70s which lasted until she died.

Bobby Vee and his wife Karen were married 50 years until earlier this year, when she died following complications from a double-lung transplant. Bobby is suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s.

There was a very nice article a couple of weeks ago in the Charlotte Observer about Maurice Williams, lead singer of the Zodiacs and writer of their huge 1960 hit “Stay.” He and his wife have been married for 54 years, and he just sounds like a lovely person.

You sure that wasn’t “successively”?

Dan Ackroyd has been married to Donna Dixon since 1983, so 32 years there.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have 27 years (edit: I see RealityChuck beat me to it). Does it help if one celebrity is more famous than the other?

Although Brangelina seem very happy together.
