Very Vaguely Desperate...

Hey you guys. My mom and brother are ordering stuff from amazon.com, and I figure i might as well order some stuff too.

Problem is I don’t really know what…i like horror, but can’t think of any good books to get.

I would really be indebted to you guys if you could think of something cool for me to order…something you know to be good. I’m a BIT desperate, as you can see. Thank you guys.

Does this look like a good discman to buy? Thinking of purchasing it…Thanks again…

From my experience, Sony is a good brand. If I’m not mistaken, they had the first walkman. Even though only 2 people rated the product, both of them were completely satisfied. One of them even dropped it on a marble floor. Also, it doesn’t seem like too bad a price. I say, go for it.

Wish I could offer some suggestions on horror, but I really did not enjoy the Koontz novel I read and the only King I’ve enjoyed wasn’t horror. But if you like King, I suggest Eyes of the Dragon or The Gunslinger.

Away from horror, I would suggest Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card or Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind. For some of the greatest short stories ever written, check out “The Super Hugos.”

Non-Fiction, on of my favorites is Travels With Charley by Steinbeck, which sadly gets overlooked for some of his other books in the English class tripe like The Grapes of Wrath.

On the subject of books, I would recommend Clive Barker’s Imajica. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Then again I don’t know if you like fantasy/adventure/sci-fi or not. If you do. Get this book. You can purchase the big hardcover edition. Or get the two paperbacks. The two paperbacks are actually the hardcover, split in half.

Thank you again, guys…i’ll try to check out these books right away.

Wait!

Do you like graphic novels (comics)? If you’re getting into horror, try the Preacher series by Garth Ennis.

If I remember right, you’re 16 or so. You might like “Stinger” by Robert McCammon. Teenagers and a monstrous thing that traps an entire town. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll wet your pants.

If it’s not in print, e-mail me, and I’ll loan you my copy. I guarantee you’ll love it.

Yes, I am sixteen.

Its in print at amazon…McCammon wrote Swan Song, too, right? i’ve heard of that one. I’ll probably get Stinger then…I think i am finally ready to order my stuff…

Zoggie, Swan Song is good too.

Heck, all the suggestions were excellent. Get all of 'em. That way you won’t be paying more for shipping than for the books.

I am SO tempted to ask you for a book report.

In order to prove whether or not i actually read it? Hehe…

I ordered it all today!

Books…
Stinger Yes, I really did get that one, AuntiePam
Another City, Not My Own
Listeners

In CDs…

And i bought said discman

Thanks for everybody’s suggestions…I did have a somewhat limited budget, so next time i’ll see if i can get around to the other ones…
