No, this is not a new late night teenage prank.
We’re getting our kids christened this weekend and wondering whether we should tip the vicar (C of E). If so, how much is appropriate?

Is it just them being christened or is it a bunch of church kids? Will it be distinct from the regular church service or as part of it?
If it’s a distinct event just for your kids, tipping seems quite appropriate- I’d say $20 per kid. Especially if you’re having a celebration around it. If it’s a church kids thing &/or part of the regular service, it may be more debatable. I’d say $20 total would be appropriate.
I didn’t think it was a teenaged prank, I thought it was a devient sexual practice.
Still, art least you get your thread close to the top, where somebody with an answer will see it.
It’s just them, in a special service (well, not a full service, just the christening) that only invited guests will be attending.
I should also point out that this is in the UK, where attitudes towards tipping are sometimes different than in the states. At any rate 40GBP sounds about right.
