Think Pence will ever assure us that the President has a big stick?
It sounds like it could be a plot against the VP.
Maybe several people they are still tracking down?
I’ve been worried the toxic political environment could lead to tragedy. It feels too much like 1968 with RFK and MLK.
Did you just compare Trump/Pence with RFK/MLK?
That’s what it looked like to me also, my head exploded too much too comment directly.
So before this thread goes bye-bye, we have no idea what all this excitement was about, do we?

This story says one of the rumors was that the cancellation was “related to the place Mr. Pence was scheduled to visit, the Granite Recovery Center.”
If anything actually happened here other than simple incompetence at scheduling, I wonder if it was just some boring but embarrassing legal issue with the center (like, say, its license wasn’t up to date) that they incompetently failed to notice until the last minute.

I thought he was quite clear. 
In the case of RFK and MLK, the toxicity came from their opponents. In the case of Pence and Trump, the toxicity comes from them.
It is just offensive seeing Trump/Pence and RFK/MLK being mentioned in the same breath.
RFK, MLK, Trump/Pence all want(ed) to bring people together. Trump/Pence being, oh, more selective in who they’d like to bring together.
Only in terms of the danger they face. The anger & craziness out there is scary for anyone pursuing politics. Doesn’t matter if it’s Democrat or Republican.
The Secret Service has it’s hands full with 25 D candidates, and all the National leaders from both parties.
We haven’t seen a charged environment like this since the 1960’s.

At first, I wondered if maybe Ms. Pence had some sort of health issue. I remembered this brouhaha from a couple of years ago. Apparently The SLOTUS had some sort of health crisis while at Camp David, and and Trump’s own Dr Feelgood (Ronny Jackson )inappropriately intervened, intimidated Pence’s doctor and also violated Mrs. P’s federal privacy rights by blabbing her health info to the big Orange baby.
But now I think that Trump just couldn’t deal with the idea that someone in his Administration had something better to do than listen to him bloviate about the use of airplanes in the Revolutionary War (no wonder we won!) so he had a tantrum and made Pence stay in town.
This is a strange equivalence to claim, inasmuch as the current administration is pursuing the politics of anger and craziness.
People are reacting to the instability at the WH.
The Senators got off very lucky after the attack at the baseball practice field. Only one Senator, Scalise had Capital Police with him and those 2 officers stopped the gunman before there were multiple deaths. Steve Scalise and lobbyist Matt Mika were the only ones seriously injured.

I don’t want to derail the thread. The last information released about Pence sounded ominous to me. I grew up during a period of political shootings starting with JFK through Ford. We had the Weather men and Black Panthers. It certainly changed how I see the political process. I hope a kid today doesn’t have to live through what my generation did.
Maybe they were out of corndogs in NH. I hope it turns out to be something silly we can laugh at.
We know that Vice President Mike Pence was stunned into inaction after being briefed that a Russian submarine that was travelling deep through the bowels of the Atlantic ocean caught on fire; a fire and was hot enough to sear human flesh.
It culminated in a life-ending massive explosion and a top secret cover-up of everything that happened prior. His first instinct was to run back to DC to person or persons unknown.
