Victory is mine! (Bwahahahaha!)

I got a cab home tonight. If anyone has ever caught a London taxi cab then they know that the drivers will happily talk bollocks on any subject under the sun and won’t shut up (even when the passenger just wants to listen to their mp3 player). Naturally I was obliged to reply. As we neared the end of the journey he announced he didn’t want to talk to me anymore. Result!

What small victories have you had?

I got rid of my kids for the night and I’m ALONE! And it’s Friday night! And I have wine! It doesn’t get much better than that.

I made it through the day without crying. I wanted to cry, but I didn’t. Usually, if I feel I want to, I do (well, a little - usually for very short times). It’s a little victory, but it is one.

On another note, I did take control of a situation when I usually discuss solutions and allow others to tell me which is best. I’m a little proud of that.

(semi-related song plug: Little Victories by Matt Nathanson - one of my favorites…sorry couldn’t resist)
