I was waiting for a call this evening. the phone rings- not my expected call. The phone rings again- still not my expected call. I get up to go to the bathroom, knowing full well that the call will come while I’m in there. sure enough, as the bathroom door is swinging shut, I hear it- the phone is ringing. I make a mad dash down the hall, getting there just in time to pick up. Yes, it was the person I’d been waiting to speak to! of course, she didn’t have the information I needed right away, so I have to call her again later, but still- I declare victory!
It’s the small victories that make life worthwhile…
Ah yes, I was expecting a text about 1pm (walking buddy), so I went to check the mail at noon.
“I bet she’s early today.” I thought, although this has never happened before and went through to the kitchen to check the phone on its charger.
Sure enough, the only minute I had been out out the house all day, she’d sent the text.
I declare victory!
My mum and I often (about one a month) get the busy signal when we try to call each other at the same time! It’s a draw!
Does victory over the delivery gods count too? Because this happens to us all the time - anytime we’re waiting for a package to show up, we are guaranteed to get it during the 1 hour we leave the house.
Every. Single. Time.
And if there’s no tracking available for it, so that we [del]don’t[/del] shouldn’t know precisely what day it will arrive, I can still guarantee what day it will arrive. It will always show up on Shopping Day.
