I’m looking on eBay for a new video card for a computer I have. It’s a Pentium MMX 166mhz. The card I have now, is ok, an Elsa Gloria 16mb. It doesn’t have video acceleration, which I don’t mind, but it’s not very Vesa compatible (yeah, DOS programming is old, but I like it). So, when looking for 16mb or 32mb video cards on eBay, it seems that all the cards I look at (I’m only looking at cards with the Buy Now option) seem to be made for PII’s and above.
So, I’m curious, what’s the best video card or graphics accelerator I can get for a Pentium MMX 166mhz computer?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks. Oh, I forgot to mention that I don’t have an AGP slot, so a PCI card is the highest I can go.
Anything within the past few years will be overkill as your CPU is a serious bottleneck.
A PCI slot TNT2 would be plenty for that rig.
TNT2, ok great, thanks. I’ll be sure to look out for that.
What operating system? I use an ATI all in wonder on a system like that, its a PCI card, does tv in & out, about $50 at ebay.com used.
Windows 98.

Not bad. I’m interested in more memory for higher color count at higher resolutions. I see it can be upgraded to 4 megs though, so I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks.
