I’m looking for the code of video showing in a website designed and managed by the software Joomla.
On my website, I have uploaded video samples which visitors are to download them first and then watch the sample. But I want to change this method and run my website like the other websites in which you can watch and play the video embedded inside the website.
I don’t know if you have tried it, but there is a pretty good (and free) joomla extension for managing video content called AllVideos.
I know it handles embedding players powered by most major video sites like google or youtube, etc. I’m not sure if it can handle locally sourced ones, but you might want to give it a try.
I just clicked on your URL, and I read the first paragraph about this plugin. Yeah, I think it suits my purpose.
Read for yourself:
… Additionally, it allows you to playback almost any video/audio filetype **directly from your server **or a remote server, giving you the competitive edge when it comes to rich media content.
I am no expert. The place where I work uses Joomla. Our IT guy shrugs his shoulders at it and says that it is as buggy as a Venus fly trap. He has rigged up a system for linking to youtube which works well for our purposes, but is probably not what you want.
He has also mentioned AllVideos, and I am led to believe that it is quite good.
Last time I needed to upload a video I edited it using Camtasia (free). When I produced the video it gave an option to export to HTML. It then produced a shockwave controller which I was able to upload with the video file. Worked like a charm. Even with my extremely limited skills I had no problems whatsoever. (I would give you a link to the results except that the site is secured.)
