There’s a video going around zoomed in and slowed down. The “eagle” is shown to not be holding the baby (as far as I can tell) but the baby still suspended in the air. The description alleges shenanigans with the shadow of the eagle as well.
Although I have not verified that that is a correct slow down and zoom of the video.
I don’t know. I am usually the first to cry FAKE, but when the kid drops it looks pretty real

Mr. Frodo, the Eagles are coming!
I was thinking more, “America, Fuck Yeah!” Outdo us on infant mortality and math testing? We’ll send our national emblem to steal your children!
Not that it matters, since this is now clearly a hoax, but…
If I saw something bad happen in a public space in Montreal, I’d be most likely to swear or exclaim to myself in English, then approach any victims/bystanders/etc with reassurances and questions in French, because I’d assume they were Francophone. Context matters, of course - if I was on the McGill campus I’d probably start with English. I can’t get the audio on my work computer but I’ll listen again when I get home so I can hear the language switch, and I’ll get back to you if it changes my opinion.
That’s just awesome ![]()
Except it claimed to be a Golden Eagle (it wasn’t; most likely a falcon of some sort) and our symbol is a Bald Eagle.
Wet blanket.
Good on ya, Bruce!
How soon before it turns into a cutaway involving Stewie on Family Guy?
More like “Wel’ll send Auburn’s mascot to steal your children. And maybe offer them scholarships.”
You just know that, somewhere, an indie producer is pitching a movie to Syfy…
We now go to Senator Vreenak for expert analysis. Senator?
Maybe this is a fake or maybe not. The point is that it can and does happen. My daughter is a veterinarian and has stories of small dogs and cats (not much smaller than that child) that have been in fact taken by birds of prey.
It isn’t any species of eagle found in North America. Neither Golden nor Bald has a white trailing edge to the wing as shown in this bird. A juvenile Golden would show more white in the tail, and a juvenile Bald more white on the back.
It does look like an Aquila eagle to me. My best guess is the Steppe Eagle Aquila nipalensis of Eurasia, assuming it is based on some real footage.
In the slowed down version of the footage, they have inserted the call of a Red-tailed Hawk, played at normal speed.
It’s a 3D Animation student project.
