I would say let him go anywhere he wants, as long as his testicles take a different plane.

I am pleased to announce that Gary Glitter is now winging his way to Jolly Old. Update here.
Thanks for posting that. People were quite happy to demonize Pete when the news broke, led on by the likes of Rush and O’Reilly (ha!) They had their minds made up right then.
Reading his 2002 anti-porn essay “A Different Bomb”, published a year before the arrest, won’t change any minds today. People like me, who have followed his career for almost 40 years, believe he was telling the truth.
What wrongdoing, then, did he acknowledge?
This is hilarious, but the laugh may be on ME.
I’m going to have to 1. engineer a conversation onto Glitter in order to use this gem, and claim it as my own 2. Find a person that isn’t up on similar charges that will find it funny and 3. Find a person that will listen to me engineer the conversation onto Glitter.
It may be worth the effort, though.
greatshakes
Nemmine, just read wikipedia.
Campbell’s statement is idiotic, tho. “Under pressure…he admitted (viewing kiddie porn.)”
And he has landed in London. See here. Woo Hoo!
I don’t know why you’re so cheery about that - we don’t fucking want him.
That may be true, but more importantly, you don’t want him fucking.
I have only one word to say about this:
Hey!
That’s exactly what got us in this mess in the first place.
It’s only pre-teenage wasteland?
Curse you!

The Thai authorities are saying they actually tricked Glitter into flying back to London. There’s a great story on that here. Really, the story seems to be more of a typical face-saving after-thought, saying the saga was all part of some “grand plan” to get him to London when in reality the Thai and British authorities were embarrassed by the whole episode and not sure what to do. But the story says they could not force him to board the flight to London when he first arrived from Vietnam because Thai Airways did not have the proper paperwork showing him to be a deported person, especially once he started yelling about his rights there in our airport and demanding to see the British ambassador. So when he flew to Hong Kong, the Thai authorities notified their counterparts there, who promptly deported him back here. THEN the Thai authorities had the proper paperwork showing Glitter to be a deported person, from Hong Kong, and so could force him onto his eventual flight to London.
Seems like a lot of intricate little legal details; I would have just knocked the bastard over the head and tossed him onto the plane.
Deleted by me.
Deleted by me.
Go on: go for the triple.
So I guess he is going to start teaching English now.
Paul,
You do know that some posters teach English overseas, right?
