Gary Glitter Nabbed in Nam.

Man that’s one potent lust for children. Link
When even Cambodia won’t have you things are pretty effed up. What does he do? Goes to Vietnam and continues to indulge his illegal desires. Now he’s under arrest. The thought of Glitter in a Vietnamese prison brings a smile to my face.

If you’re not already aware, Mr Glitter (not his real name) has become immortalised in rhyming slang. To “take someone up the Gary Glitter” is to have anal intercourse with them. I have an inkling that this usage was coined before he was arrested for having pornographic images of children on his PC.

I like the name of the foreign ministry official: Le Dung.

Og almighty! He’s 61, and going after girls under 15. I’m all for staying young, but be ashamed Mr. Glitter! Sheesh.

That’s just a tragic, pathetic shame. I really love some of his classic, rockin’ anthem-type music.

But that’s just messed up. It’s one thing to have a problem, get caught, recognize it as a problem and treat it somehow, but this sounds like he’s totally unrepentant about it.

Let him rot.

“Doo-dah! Doo-dah!”

He first got caught when he took his computer to PC World and they found a bunch of kiddy porn on it-how dumb is this guy?

Let’s review the lyrics to his biggest hit, “Rock and Roll Part 2”:

“Hey
Hey
Hey
Hey
Heyyeeeyey”

Pretty dumb, I’d guess.

Certainly, this particular story gives a lot of credence to the theory that sexual offenders are among the highest recidivism rates in the criminal system. It appears that they’re truly hard wired to be the way they are. Which means that by extension, they can never truly be cured by incarceration alone.

So what do we do with them then?

You forgot the “nananananananana”'s.

The man is a born lyricist.

Send them to Vietnam, duh

:stuck_out_tongue:

That’s actually a pretty common way for these guys to get busted. Isaac Asimov’s son got nabbed that way.

Sight hi-jack  Weren’t there false allegations levelled against Isaac at one point or does that tie in to his son’s bust?

Other than growing long mutton-chop whiskers decades after they went out of fashion, I’ve never heard a breath of scandal against the late good Doctor. Perhaps you are thinking of the false allegations brought against SF writer Sir Arthur C. Clarke back around the time of his Knighting.

Sir Rhosis

Dunno. I think there might be some kind of bad blood in the family because ISTR something about Isaac’s second wife having a publishing career solely because of who she married. Isaac’s son was busted a number of years after his father’s death.

Arthur C. Clarke was falsely accused of pedophilia IIRC, maybe you are thinking of him. Not sure about Asimov.

Wasn’t James Randi accused of somesuch too?

You are correct Sir. The synapses are misfiring tonight.

As are you good Duke.
