That is about ten minutes away from my house.
I read about it in last saturdays paper and discussed it with the churches youth group.
Oddly enough last weeks topic was “how to shock Jesus” and we were discussing things that people will believe or do that would shock Jesus with their show of faith.
It was mentioned that there would probably be people from all over the place and not just locals who will want to come and see this.
I told the kids that any who wanted to go and see if they could see what others had described could ask their parents and I would take them the following evening to see it.
I figured it would be cool for them to see and feel the excitement and energy of people believing in their faith. I know, not exactly a pilgrimage.
I was actually excited myself.
You know, even if it is just a play of light, shadow, and reflection it still would have been cool to see.
I say would have been, because on Monday somebody set a fire at the base of the street light that was part of the main show and it broke.
If anyone wants me to, I will be more than happy to see if they got the light fixed and to wait out in the cold to see if there is anything to look at.
Ahhh, the ol’ Giant Mushroom Head (all hail!). Good times, good times…
Virgin Mary and bonus baby Jesus found in a seashell. I’m gonna give you kids an inside tip, here. At the close of Gettysdope III, I predict that the images of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and Mickey Mantle will be visible in the bottom of my chili crock pot. Advance offers starting at $25K would be great. As Bugs Bunny said, “What a gulla-bull.”
