My house…Which will be impossible after they foreclose.
Anywhere with no kids. Or at least MY kids.
I know, I know, virtually impossible, right???
I second Lumpy’s suggestion about the giant zeppelin. The passenger cabin could be the equivalent of a luxury cruise ship.
The income from letting rich folks buy tickets to cruise on the zeppelin would help defray the operating costs.
They’d be kept away from my private decks, of course!
A cave in the rocky mountains, 50 miles away from any other humans.
Stay away from my varmint traps, dagnabit!
Where the sky meets the sea.
Though it’d probably get boring after a while.
In my own private compound. It would be located in a nice valley in the Rockies, so the mountains would protect it from extremes of weather. It would have a hot spring running in the valley for heating and bathing purposes, as well as a cold stream for drinking. It would be completely isolated with one road in and out; the road would be fenced off so no one uninvited would be allowed in (also suitable for end-of-the-world contingencies). We would be almost completely self-sufficient, requiring very little outside contact except through the web and satellite tv.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot the patrol cougars.
Gee, that doesn’t sound antisocial, does it?
Reminds me of that scene in The Truman Show.
As for me, I’d like a flying RV. No, wait, a floating one, so I could just sit on the back porch with an iced tea and watch the world go by. Aw, heck, just sign me up for another zepplin like Lumpy. Though I’d want a little Jetson’s car to go with it so I could pick up groceries (heavens knows parking the zepplin would be a pain).
O.K. FisherQueen just for you!
Would it be air conditioned?
There are plans to build a huge floating city, which will slowly cruise around the world.
Mortuary chapel, on a second floor with a view of the cemetary, doesn’t matter where it is.
A cave with many kinds of rock formations and a spring, maybe an underground river that you have to paddle through to get to the main quarters.
An abandoned amusement park.
Space Needle.
Directly over a huge waterfall, perhaps one in South America.
Sundance in Utah
Bergen, Norway
Wright’s house Falling Water
Any of the places designed by a woman fairly early in the 20th Century near the Grand Canyon. I can’t think of her name, but if you know it, I would like to know. She also designed in New Mexico, I think.
On the point, overlooking Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu. So I could see the sets roll in on a 40 foot day from my balcony. It’d be kind of noisy though, I suppose.
The Eagle’s Nest
The Isle of Skye. I’d like to raise goats and make soap. That would be pure bliss…
Sigh.
Atlantis, after it sunk under the sea.
Iona/ cornwall in king arthur days
Fallingwater, too
I not only live in the Caribbean, my job involves travel to all the islands. There is much need for technical expertise, health personnel and educators here. Granted, most jobs don’t pay well unless you work for an international organisation. But there are lots of those, too. You have to balance the desire for money with the desire for a beautiful environment, interesting cultures and general quality of life. I took a cut in pay to move here but it was an excellent choice, in my opinion.
…that the east coast is dotted with-they are cast concrete, ciruclar towers about 110 ft. tall. I’d love to convert one into a house-dynamite views from the top! How do I BUY one of these towers? (Saw a PACK of them in Dewet Beach, Delaware!
