Visiting Nova Scotia and the Bay of Fundy Tide Changes

My wife and I will have two days in Nova Scotia and we’re interested in seeing the tidal action of the Bay of Fundy. Got any ideas of where to go and what to do?

I was thinking of going on a boat tour that goes out onto a tidal bore. We’re not into the thrill ride aspect so much, but we’d rather see and experience the tidal bore. There’s also a Bay of Fundy Interpretive Center, but that looks a little boring. Has anyone been?

I haven’t been to the interpretive centre in Nova Scotia, but I’ve been to the one at Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick, and it’s definitely a really interesting place. I’ve heard that it’s better than it’s NS counterpart. The rocks themselves are interesting and you can visit at high and low tide and see the difference - I think you can also kayak around them at high tide but I’ve never done that part.

Hopewell Rocks is a relatively easy drive from Halifax (even better from Halifax airport) if you’re going to be near there and are planning on renting a car. Of course, with only two days you may be unwilling to spend much time driving. But it might be worth looking into.
