Long time lurker, (six years ) first time poster. Ahem.
During the last week of March, I’ll be paying my first visit to New York City! It will be a three day visit, and I wanted to solicit some advise on any attractions I should visit while I’m there. I’m already aware of the official NYC tourism website, however, the most of the attractions listed on the website are centered around the Manhattan area. Since time will be relatively short, I’m mostly interested in things I can do in Queens. Most of my day will revolve around an admitted student, open house session at St John’s University (I’ve been accepted into their law school). The law school is located in Jamaica, Queens, so I don’t think I’ll have much time to spend in Manhattan. I typically enjoy fine art/theater, museums, and visiting historical sites. Can anyone out there in Dopeland offer any advice on things to see or do in Queens? Does anyone know anything about the Jamaica area?
Also, does anyone know much about St John’s University? I’ve already read everything on their official website, but I’m looking more so for anecdotal information. What’s the school’s overall reputation in New York? Thanks!
