Sometime back I had an interesting discussion about how the world is divided into three breakfast preferences: those who like sweet breakfast foods, those who like salty foods and those of us who will actively seek out both sweet jams and marmite. This talk took place just before a fairly large meeting in a francophone country with folks from all over; we took a brief, albeit unscientific and culturally insensitive [ie: didn’t take into account cultural biases] count, and found that yes, many folks were either sweet [Nutella!] or salty. There were quite a few secret Marmite lovers [non-Brit, non- Aussie but one Canadian]. It was just one of those interesting hhhhmmm moments which I thought of when I saw this thread.
I like Vegemite, but I don’t like Marmite.
