OK, I got a Volvo C30, and it has AUX input. First time I ever tried to use it. Thanks to the SDMB, I got the proper cable to hook my 2nd gen iPod and my old iPad mini into the system. (Male male 3.5 cable)
Ok, but now with the stereo set to aux and on, and the iPod play - nothing.
Same with the iPad.
What am i doing wrong?
Did you try turning up the volume on the iPod?

If you unplug the wire from the iPod and touch the male plug, does it hum or buzz through the car speakers?
No, it does not.
Nada.
May be a bad cable, especially if it worked before.
Cable is new, and I have never tried the aux before.
Anyway of telling a bad cable?
Did you push in the connector all the way in the car? Sometimes the last 1/32" or so resists a bit.
Do you have any other speakers or a stereo with a 3.5 mm input?
I dont think so, I will check.
