Pence underperformed expectations. Harris met but barely.
Ugh, I hated this “say something nice about each other!” shit when they pulled it 4 years ago, I hate it now.
Only if you think Pence is telling the truth. Pence ended with mail-in vote fraud which we all know (here) is bullshit.
If you think because he could just lay out such crap without being ranty makes him good we have different opinions on what constituters a good performance.

He maintained the trumpy not paying attention to the rules by talking over the moderator.
I thought Harris did fine. Pence probably also did about as well as he could, considering their abysmal record. I seriously doubt this makes any difference, though hopefully if anyone was concerned about Harris’s passion or sharpness that should be assuaged.
I think the fly won.

Okay, so by far, the biggest thing happened to this debate is that Pence doubled down on Trump refusing to accept the results of the election. If it was just Trump, you could say well this is just Trump, insane bully narcissist Trump, feeling like he’s keeping his options open. By dancing around for two minutes without being willing to say “yes, this is America, we have real elections, we will respect whoever wins the election” means that he has been part of a deliberate plan on the part of the Trump administration to contest the results of an election they lose, and refuse to transfer power.
I feel like this is getting lost in a mountain of bullshit and people aren’t going to notice it, but Pence effectively 100% confirmed tonight that the Trump administration will not respect the results of the election and will not abide by a peaceful transition of power. We are at defcon 1 in terms of an impending coup. Not a big enough deal will be made of this, but this is huge.

Only if the rest of the government backs Trump in a bid to remain in power. He’d need the military and police on his side, willing to start a civil war.
Otherwise it is just Trump crying how unfair it all is as the Secret Service carries him out of the White House.
If the military and police back Trump to stay in power the US is dead and we are in a civil war.
ABC just made it sound like Harris saying she’d refuse to take a vaccine if Trump told her to was just being spiteful. Now, this is a stupid interpretation of her words, but she could’ve made her point a lot more clear. She should’ve said “Trump has already recommended kook treatments that haven’t been supported by the science, like HCQ. He’s so desperate to win the re-election that he’s willing to promise us the cure, whether it be ineffective medicine, or a vaccine that hasn’t been through the proper tests” or something like that.
I agree 100%. This is terrifying. But keep in mind, the Secret Service and the Military both hate Trump with a passion. Barr’s BrownShirts can’t keep them in power against the will of the people.
All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing, and there’s been a HELL of a lot of nothing going on these past four years. I would not put my faith in anyone to do anything but go with the flow. There’s a tremendous inertia to doing nothing.
