Vulnerable Ports in Windows XP Pro

How many ports are there in Windows XP Professional that are vulnerable to attack. I am using Zone Alarm and PCCillin and all I can do is hope that they protect my computer.

Goto:

http://grc.com/default.htm

and scroll down to ShieldsUp! Click on that and it’ll provide a number of ways to find your vulnerabilities, as well as explaining what they are and how to fix them.

In theory, any port which has something able to receive traffic on it is a “risk”, and this doesn’t really depend on it being XP or any other operating system. That is, there is not a known “hot list” of key ports that are always vulenerable, barring a few which are actively utilized by the OS (such as we all saw last week).

I tried the link that ptr2void suggested. I am completely safe. So, I am not worried anymore. I use Zone Alarm 4.0 Pro, so I think I am safe.
