Watching The Rookie this week, and I realise I still get Don Franklin and Blair Underwood mixed up.
When I was a kid, I thought Dan Redican (of the comedy group “The Frantics”) was in Beetlejuice and Heathers, but it was actually actor Glenn Shadix.

I was watching Pam And Tommy. When the character of Erica, a former co-worker of the Josh Rogan character that he crashes with for a while is introduced I thought “Cool, it’s Eliza Coupe from Happy Endings. Glad she’s working.”
Except it wasn’t. It was Taylor Schilling from Orange Is The New Black.
I think they look very similar.
The story of my life… until I learned somewhere about face-blindness. Now I’m not suggesting that you are face-blind but I am a bit, enough that I would actually confuse the examples in your post.
That’s my reality and my wife, when we’re watching tv, will occasionally ask “do you know who that is?” to help me stay on track.
Maybe it’s intermittent for me - sometimes I’m quite good at recognizing someone in a different context (as shown in other thread about the “same guy”).

The pilot episode of The Bob Newhart Show did not include Bill Daily as a ditzy neighbor.
It did, however, have William Redfield as a less ditzy neighbor.
