I don’t recall an instance of Jodi saying anything except how she personally felt about the subject in discussion, and responding eloquently to some not-very-polite posts directed at her. Just to clear up any misconceptions I was the one who swung the hammer at Lexicon and referred the situation to the admins, with a strong request for banning. Hang no one else for my sins.
In my view, the discussion was impassioned but remaining civil and on topic until Lexicon turned it very ugly and very personal. Aruging vociferously is fine. Telling another poster to suck your dick isn’t. And no, one hasty comment didn’t ring the buzzer. It was the most outrageous affront in an increasingly bizarre–and abusive–tirade.
Let it be noted after I warned Lexicon to refrain from personal attacks his response to me was (in part), “Cheers, bitch.” I don’t like being called a bitch for doing my job.
Then, just to compound the fracture, he spewed out more ugly attacks on Jodi that I won’t dignify by repeating.
This was one a total no-brainer. Cripes, how could anyone think leting him continue this way was a choice?
And just for the record, I’d never had the slightest conflict with Lexicon previously. Grudges and hidden agendas–phooey. He acted like a technicolor jerk and refused to stop. It’s just that sad, simple and stupid.

Clearly, the words “Cheers, bitch” were a characterization of his words to Jodi, not an insult to you.
The “head up my ass” statement was a reference to the words
which is apparently what set him off. Is that type of insult acceptable? I don’t know. Gaudere did not seem to think so, in the case of Satan. I am not saying that you were playing favorites here - maybe you missed the line, or have a different standard. But it does point to one of the problems of moderating these forums - the lack of a clear-cut standard. Further, by ignoring one insult and coming down heavy on the other, you were provoking the type of response that you got. Not to say that this excuses the response - it does not. Just that you had a hand in it.
