We also use that room as a lactation room for employees who need to pump breast milk during their shift. I assume that’s why no cameras in there.
That would make a lot more sense.
Do you think theft doesn’t occur in the back rooms?
Actually, who knows with Walmart? They’re cheap bastards and worse than other big box stores.
The store I work in (not a Walmart) does have cameras in the back room, including around dangerous machinery. They’ve recorded accidents, thefts, and assaults.
I thought it was customary to waft baking odors throughout stores to entice
customers to buy bread.
That’s a whole lotta Debbie.
mmm
You’d understand the need if you’d ever seen Severance.
Never mind.
Not really. I’ve read that cinnabun intentionally installs the smallest ventilation system code will allow so the odor of the rolls drifts around malls, but in general, bakers try to properly ventilate their ovens.
I very clearly wrote “the sales floor or other places where theft is likely to occur.” This was also addressed again a few posts later, which is why it’s a good idea to finish reading a thread before posting.
Only in a very few places, like the Cinnabon example already mentioned. Otherwise you’re going to have a big problem the first time something burns and the smoke alarms go off. And things do burn, even with pre-programmed baking times/temperatures.
What do “SOs” and “ME” mean in this context?
SO = Significant Other (e.g. spouse, jilted soon-to-be ex, etc. and often the primary suspect)
ME = Medical Examiner (e.g. the mortician responsible for running tests to figure out cause of death)
Significant Other: one who shares a couch with an aficionado and thereby absorbs expertise in various topics.
ME: medical examiner.
Yes and my take on it is that @Slithy_Tove is the SO of a true-crime fan, hence he’s picked up on the medical details that the killer never thinks about ahead of time.
Ninja-ed!
We’re definitely not in the conclusory stage yet, but it’s always the probability stage. That’s what probability is: A discussion of things you don’t know yet.
Halifax police have advised that no foul play is suspected.
They must have some idea how this happened.
A safety bulletin should be written and circulated. Try and ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
I would imagine they’ll get to that after the investigation is done. In the mean time, as you quoted, the oven works fine, so there’s not ongoing concern it’s going to happen again. WAG, it’s suicide or otherwise self inflicted.
When they say it was assessed and determined to have been operating as per the manufacturer’s requirements, I’m assuming that means the internal door release works properly. “No foul play” suggests it wasn’t a murder and saying that no one else was involved implies someone didn’t, for example, accidentally turn it on while she was in there.
IMHO, this is all pointing at suicide. If they can do a toxicology screen during the autopsy, I wouldn’t be surprised to find that she had sleeping pills or some other type of depressant in her system.
According to the police department, the Department of Labor and medical examiner service are continuing to look into the case, but as police “do not believe the death to be suspicious,” they will be offering no further updates, “out of respect for the family.”
Suuuuure. Color me suspicious as hell.
