PBS has been running “Be More Inspired” commercials, one of which features composer (in this case) Walter Boudreau suffering from writers block. In it he notices several birds landing on five wires outside that resemble a musical notation. Inspired, he proceeds to hammer out a pretty cool riff on the piano.
I don’t read music, so what I’d like to learn is whether the birds represent the actual notes he plays.
Extra point: Are these notes part of an already existing piece?
Peace,
mangeorge
BTW; Pucini’s Madama Butterfly is on tv in the other room. Ugh! I gotta go get some lunch.
Do you have a link to the commercial? I don’t watch TV. I’ve worked with Walter Boudreau doing Frank Zappa tribute concerts with ACREQ, so I’m really curious.
No, sorry, I don’t. I tried, but it seems PBS might have it pretty well locked up.
Maybe someone more skillful than I can do it.
See what you miss? you should (selectively) watch. Lotsa good stuff.
