There is a universe where Walter White and Gordon Freeman are mortal enemies. Given all we know about both of their abilities in their respective stories, who would win in a confrontation? They are both bad-asses in their own way. Although I know who I’d put my money on.
I suppose it makes more interesting if it is not a “duel” per se, but a situation where at the end of one week there will have to be a victor. ( time to set up traps, cook up volatile compounds, sharpen crowbars etc.)
Alien tech is not allowed as it would tilt the playing field IMO
The G-Man officiates so no cheating.
Who comes out on top?
(Inspired by the flash forward where Walt looks a lot like Mr. Freeman.)
Where they’re trying to kill each other? Gordon and I don’t even see how it’s a question. Walt’s personally killed what, three people one of which was tied to a pole.
He killed Fring with a bomb That’s pretty hardcore. The exploding fake meth in Tucos place was also a bit aggro. I think he’s got some ultra-violence in him. Ran over some fools as well. And as we know he’s about to become acquainted with automatic weapons.
Emilio, Krazy 8, the two dealers he ran over, Gus, the goon who was in the room with Gus, two more of Gus’s goons a bit later, Mike…
Nine. Ten, if you count Jane. I might have forgotten some. Plus everyone he ordered to have killed. I’m assuming Tio doesn’t count, as he agreed to explode himself.
Well, without access to Xen weaponry it would be down to conventional weapons. Freeman gets the edge there.
And while Walt may not be as comfortable with firearms, he is smarter in ways that can kill a person than Gordon is.
If you gave each an automatic weapon separated em by 20 paces and had em draw, Walts through, yes. But if the battle were something akin to Kirk stuck on the planet with the alien that Kirk kills with a homemade (cannon, howitzer?) I think Walts survivability odds go up.
Freeman is without a doubt a “good guy”. Walt not so much Does that matter? Eh. Evil edge goes to Walt.
In an asymmetrical war + enough time, Walt wins.
Oh, and Gordon can’t use his suit, but Walt has to fight in his tighty-whiteys.
Is this a situation where they’re living in a normal society and need to use cunning to survive and avoid the cops while taking out the opponent? Then Walt by a mile.
