Wanna sked QRP on 40?

Especially if your QTH is KS, SD, ND, UT, or ID.

Oh and MT or NE. I’d say AK, but that would be quite the skip nowadays.

Are you high?

**Greathouse ** - he’s high on the prospects of communicating with far-off people via ham radio.

To which I say - 73s

I only hold a Technician and thus no 40 privledges.
I hear we’re getting HF soon, though.

I am appalled that I know what you people are talking about and I’m not one of you.

QTH currently QRT. But I’m still curious enough to check out the thread.

SSB? CW? Or other mode?

(Translation: I’m currently off the air… Voice or Morse code?)

QRP CW on 40 at the moment. I have a new Yaesu FT-840 on the way though. Then I’ll be all modes on 10-160.

Any FISTS out there?

Dont wait, I urge you to go take your Element 1 and Element 3 exams. HF is a blast (even if the sun spot cycle is a it lowest right now).

The Element 3 exam is pretty easy. I studied by taking the QRZ.com practice exams online over and over until I had memorized the entire question pool. In fact, I got so bored that I started studing the Element 4 exam. On test day I took Elements 1, 3, and 4 and passed them all.

As to learning the code, read this, then use the G4FON trainer to practice. I learned it well enough to pass the 5 wpm exam in three weeks.

Please consider it. Ham radio needs more CW operators. That and it is a blast!

Ohhh, I get it…it’s kinda like that “Mornington Crescent” thread, right?

Ok, I’ll play along. Ummm…I’ll switch over to 128 sideband with the PVR.

How’d I do?
