It’s probably asking a lot, but I’m in my early 20’s and have this “perma-shadow” that’s just there even when I wait a few days and do a good close shave. At the most it’ll be gone for half a day and comes back pretty quickly. So anyways, is there any way to get rid of any semblence of facial hair for a few weeks (even days would be fine)?
I’m just wishy washy and don’t want to commit fully into doing electro or laser to get rid of it permanently because I don’t know if down the road I end up preferring it. I know about Magic Shaving Powder but there seems to be horror stories about that. Anyone know anything about other facial hair removal cremes like Palmer’s No Blade? Is there any other safe method?
I have a heavy, fast growing beard myself. I’ve tried depilatory products on both my beard and my hair in the summer when I’ve shaved my head. In my experience they didn’t last for “weeks”. Just a few days.
When you shave, are you shaving with the grain (downward) or against it (up)?
Shaving against the grain gives me the closest, longest lasting shave with little instances of ingrowns.
I shave in the shower after I clean, so my face is soaked in water and steam. I Use a good gel, or a mug lather with brush. Products like Shave Secret or King of Shaves are good, but overpriced. I Shave downward first, re-lather, then shave against the grain. Rinse off my face completely with warm water. Then I put just a drop of mineral oil on my palm and rub it all over my puss.
Shaving this way lasts at least a day and a half, and leaves my face smooth as a baby. It’s the best way of preventing scraps and chafing on my wifes inner thighs.
What do you know, I’ve always wanted to ask about this stuff, so pardon the slight hijack. It usually seems to be sold in the “black” section of the grooming isle, why is that? How does it work? Does it hurt?
It’s basically a depilatory like Nair but in powder form. It’s pretty strong and will dissolve the hair under the skin which is helpful for black men because they tend to get a lot of beard ingrowns since the hair is so curly. Might be worth trying for the Op but make sure you do a patch test first in an inconspicuous place. Some people have a bad reaction to the chemicals and you don’t want a huge rash all over your face.
