I imagine you posted this because you don’t believe the report?
No … because I thought it was somewhat amusing that the report required 600 pages of explanation.
I see, my mistake. I was about to say that equipment will fail from time to time, and it’s a part of life.
Am I going too far out of my way to avoid the news or was this blackout not heavily reported on?
I believe it was sometime in mid-july the blackout occured.
I remember hearing about it. I live in the Boston area so it wasn’t a local story but maybe we get slightly more NYC news because they are just down the road, so to speak.
Sure, but is it too much to ask for an electric utility to expect high temperatures in the NYC area in July, and to be prepared for the ramifications of such an event?
It reminds me of every June, with the first warm days about half the MBTAs commuter rail cars will not have functioning air conditioning, and they turn into movable ovens. The agency that runs them always seems to be caught flatfooted by warm weather happening in the summer.
Dude, corporations have been using “circumstances beyond our control” excuse since the beginning of time. And lawyers have been justifying their exorbitant bills with impressive sounding jargon since the beginning of time.
