Want to move to new area in the US, advice please

We don’t get a lot of snow, generally. I wouldn’t let it be too much of a concern unless you live out in the suburbs and have to drive a lot or you just plain old hate the stuff.

The traffic, well - can’t say much good about it except that it’s fairly predictable. The good thing is most it can be avoided by either using mass transit or living a few blocks from work and walking. That is, if you don’t mind living in the city itself.

I’d say the NYC area’s probably a better place than most if you’re a recent liberal arts grad looking for a good job.

I like the Albuquerque suggestion or maybe even Santa Fe. I ought to try that myself!

Well, I consider NYC to get more snow than here in the DC area, and it’s not that I hate snow, but I hate how people freak out and make driving 20 times worse because of that. Like the time it took me 3 hours to make what is normally a 15 min ride home!

Anyway, am I asking too much here? What is your town like? Please share.

Anyone??:dubious:

You could give Atlanta a try - the northern part like Kennesaw and there abouts. Kennesaw to Atlanta would be like Springfield to DC and the traffic would be a little better than what you contend with up there.
It is relatively fast paced, folks like to get where they’re going, and though it’s not as diverse as DC Metro it does have a fair cross section and I’m sure this will only increase over the next few years ( it’s a growing town ).
Also, you and your husband could probably buy a house down here. My old neighborhood in Alexandria now has the little houses starting at 300,000 — holy crap! You can buy a nice house down here for half that.
We also have tons of the most beautiful women in the world. This probably doesn’t matter to you, but it is certainly something I factored in when I was making my decision.
If it snows, just stay home - it’ll be gone in the morning and people don’t do well driving in it. Also, it would help if you like thunderstorms - we get some good ones here.
BTW… this is a long reply for me so I’m going to be lazy and skip the preview - just pretend the spelling and stuff is correct.
