Want to own a baseball team? Out of the Park Baseball

Several dopers, ex-dopers, and non-dopers and I are in a fantasy baseball league called ‘The Overeducated League’. The league is based upon Out of the Park Baseball and you can see the league details here:

Currently we play in an older version of the game, 6.51a but are discussing upgrading in the next few seasons. The new owner would have to purchase the game and run it locally to participate. Time commitment is usually about 5-15 minutes every couple of days.

The team that is open at the moment is Winnipeg but the new owner can move it to their hearts content.

My email is in the profile if anyone is interested or I’ll take questions in this thread.

C’mon, people. Who hasn’t said ‘I could do a better job running a team than that!’.

Now’s your chance to show what you can do!

I might be game.

Give me the short version of what is involved w/r/t involvement and money.

We use version 6.51a of the game. Mack and I run the sims (each one about five days). Players have the responsibility to download the league file and make changes, if any, to their team and upload them. It takes me between 5-10 minutes to make my changes.

The game lets you manage pitching staff, lineups, three levels of minor league teams, and the financial end. That includes managing salaries, arbitration, free agency, amateur draft bonuses and promotional dates.

What you don’t do is manage the day-to-day field performance. You’re more general manager/owner than field manager.
