There isn’t even a central philosophy. Mostly unfocused, uncomprehending anger & angst. Largely from Whites (few Blacks/Hispanics/Asians in the mix).
Protest sizes are always grossly exaggerated by the Tea Set (snicker)–often by a factor of 100X.
Arrests? The usual drunks/jerks, as found in any crowd, for the most part.
Think about a grass roots organization that rallies people to oppose govt excesses, whether it is by the Republicans or Democrats, and has a coherent set of grievances and a list of proposals that they think will make America better.
Tebaggers are the exact opposite of that.

Interesting article in the NYTimes today (maybe it was Sunday) to the effect that a lot of the major players “leaduing” the action are media fatcats just milking the crowd. Give a rile-em-up speech, sell 'em your book or show, move on. What they’re riled up about, or whether your actions are good for the country by your lights, much less anyone else’s, don’t seem to factor into the mix.
I’m not saying I agree 100% with the article, but it is thought provoking.
