Wanted: Music associated with movies with mostly male casts

Top Gun has quite a few big tunes and not that many women in the cast.

Highway to the Danger Zone
You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling
Actually just any of those Simpson/Bruckhimer movies should do.

Centerfield from Bull Durham
I’m alright from Caddyshack
The theme from Chariots of Fire
The Entertainer from The Sting
Go Daddy-o or You and Me and the Bottle Makes Three from Swingers

Pash

Also from Top Gun, there’s also Kenny Loggins’ Playing with the Boys, aka the beach volleyball song. Lots of gay subtext in the song (intentioned or not), I don’t know if that’ll work for the OP’s purposes or not…

I’ll be very evil and say the *Mickey Mouse * song from the end of Full Metal Jacket. In a similar vein, Suicide is Painless from MASH.

or something completely different:
Lollipop from Stand By Me
Nothing Like a Dame from South Pacific
Maybe even Jailhouse Rock would suit?

I think they’re going to end up with a military/prison/crime theme whichever way they go. But The Full Monty would be great!

Louie Louie from Animal House

The Blues Brothers.

The quintessential guy musical. Great selections would be Rowdy Yates (Theme from Rawhide), Jailhouse Rock or She Caught the Katy.

Just stay away from Blues Brothers 2000.

The theme from the original The Italian Job, written by Quincy Jones, would be a good one.

Had another thought…East bound and Down from Smokey and the Bandit. Instantly recognisable, only 1 female character.

There’s the Godfather theme, very masculine in an Italian kissy-men way.

Better would be Surfin’ Bird by The Trashmen (also from Full Metal Jacket

Well everybody’s heard
About the bird
Bird bird bird…
Bird is the word

Or how about the old 1960s Spider-Man theme (which plays at the end of the Spider-Man movies)?

Spider-Man
Spider-Man
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web
Any size
Catches thieves
Just like flies

Bouncy! Good dance number.

When I read your OP, I instantly thought of Greased Lightning from Grease. It’s not a “mostly male” movie, but that scene is male-only, and the song highlights that.

Thanks for the ideas. Many of them I look at and go why didn’t I think of that? :smack:

Some of them I did think of, thankfully, or I’d feel even worse. A few I don’t know, but I’ll suggest them anyway - they can pick the ones they want out of the mix.

Any more suggestions welcomed

I think it may tend that way too. But I’d like to have at least a few with other themes.

Guys and Dolls had a few all-male numbers and is sort of a “guy” musical. The Crapshooters’ Dance and Luck Be a Lady would work out nicely (nicely).

Hmm - and I’ve performed to Luck Be A Lady before - and I still didn’t think of it. :o

By the way, it doesn’t have to be a musical - though of course they tend to have good dance music.

Raunchy!

Burning Bridges by the Mike Curb Congregation?

Bad to the Bone, from Terminator 2

The James Bond theme.

Car Wash, by Rose Royce, from the movie of the same name.

Shaft, naturally.

Lawrence of Arabia.

Great soundtrack, in a film that has not even a recognizable female face.(A couple veiled I think)
