Idle curiosity got me thinking about gas prices. This changed to thinking about our fighting boys and girls in Iraq (don’t ask me how I made that transition).
So does our military use local pumps to fill up the Humvees and tanks? Or do we ship in our own fuel as part of the war effort?
I believe we ship in our own (or pay contractors to ship it for us), as IIRC Iraq’s refinery capacity isn’t anywhere nearly sufficient to support the war.
I asked this question on another board, and one poster said we get gas at $0.05, subsididized by the gov’t (which government, I don’t know)… Well I have huge doubts about that without links or any sort of proof.
