I’m guessing he will say he is compelled to patrol our border to stop the invading army of illegal immigrants to protect our freedumbs. Also, he will guard McDonald’s bathrooms from transgendered people who try to use the “wrong” bathroom.
All these people will eventually cycle out. Just look at his first administration- his first picks don’t last very long when they actually have to start doing work. The “oh shit” will start to settle in before long and they will be forced to get their act together.
Gentlemen, Don Junior here may talk like an idiot, and look like an idiot, but don’t let that fool you: he really is an idiot. I implore you, send him back to his father and brother, who are waiting for him with open arms in the penitentiary. I suggest that we give him ten years in Leavenworth, or eleven years in Twelveworth.
Maybe Donnie will take a page out of Putin’s playbook and Hegseth has a fall from an open window. This guy is a complete embarrassment- what fucking reason do his wife and brother have to be privy to information that, if released, potentially endangers the lives of US servicepersons? Get rid of him, it’s really hard to conceive of someone who would be worse.
This thread is getting badly off track with the goofing. Please leave that for other forums better suited to it.
Let’s get this thread back to the actual discussion about inadvertently publishing war plans where they shouldn’t be disclosed, the consequences to the individuals involved and the fallout to the nation.
I am hearing a lot of speculation on TV and Youtube that Hegesth is on the way out and while I think that is a good thing overall, I’m still concerned about the use of Signal in general. This isn’t something that happened once or twice. It’s something where the Trump administration has been caught once or twice.
If they are forced to stop using Signal (instead of pretending the problem goes out the door with Hegseth) I can easily imagine them switching to some other platform just like it. Either that or Trump declares that Signal is okay for government communications and he ignores all the security experts who could explain in great detail why that isn’t the case.
I hope you’re right. I just heard on CBS 24/7 that “the President is standing behind Hegseth”, but that channel plays stuff on a loop so who knows what’s happened since.
That’s been my concern too. Yes, Signal may be high-tech and advanced and all that, but perhaps the old fashioned ways might be more suitable for discussions like this. What would be so wrong with a conference call on the telephone between the necessary parties? It would be hard to accidentally include a magazine editor on one of those.
It’s like we’re watching a teenager. Does something that he knows he shouldn’t, not just because of common sense - which he should have in spades, but doesn’t - but because I bet there’s rules and cautions and who knows what restrictions, that everyone is aware of. But he does it anyway because it’s more convenient, or whatever. That’s how we rolled in the frat, man.
Gets cold busted, looks like a dick but faces no actual consequences, and then DOES IT AGAIN.
How can every feckin’ member of congress, or at least Dems, not scream for his dismissal? I know they’re cowards, but this is an easy one.
This is a perfect opportunity to amplify biggly yet another fuckup by the Gump Administration.
