Warlords of Draenor: WoW General Discussion thread 10/13/2014

I’m really glad I got those mounts before they took away the HP rewards for PvP dailies.

I bought my last PvP Honor-Point-buy mount by obsessively solo-grinding Vault of Archavon trying to get the dropped mount and never noticing until I hit cap that I was being awarded HPs for each boss kill.

Not a bad consolation prize, as these things go. :o

Just an observation: although most of Dragon Soul is easy for a 100 to solo, Spine of Deathwing is a pain in the nuts.

That is all.

I just blew 80k gold on 4 Orbs of Mystery for one mount.

How fast does the Honor add up? I may have to poke my head in there if it’s worthwhile. Though I imagine I’d be limited to once a week, so maybe it’s not.

You could just make a bot to farm it for you.

No, wait, don’t do that.

Super Ban-Hammer

Zero, apparently. They patched it at some point, because they hate fun.

I should probably have mentioned that. :smack: Hope I didn’t get your hopes up.

I haven’t tried myself in some time, although after level 100, so I can’t confirm that report.

When they were dropping HPs, the bosses seemed like they were worth a few dozen HP each. It seemed to vary, and I don’t recall a specific number. Like I said, I never even noticed until I capped HP.

I might try again, just to get the 10-man achievement I haven’t gotten yet. If I do, and it turns out to be worth HP, I’ll post.

Hmmm… I wonder if Baradin Hold would also do this? (Being a raid in the middle of a PvP zone, right to raid won by faction victory. It’s a cool concept, although I am completely not fond of PvP.)

I still haven’t bought the Orbs for my Onyx panther. I keep finding more stuff to buy.

OTOH, I will claim a fair auction house victory. I was only one item away from getting my auctioneer robot working in my main’s garrison: the Universal Language Repository.

I don’t play Ashran enough to hope for one to drop for me, so it’s trolling the AH for me.

I have never seen one for less than 20k, but early this week I saw one for 35k buyout, only 13k bid.

I bid.

No one outbid me. Apparently, people have forgotten how auctions work.

So I won the item I needed for less than half of the AH mean price on my realm. /happydance

Oh, congratulations! The cost of that quest was the reason I replaced the Trading Post in my garrison. I’m an engineer and my hearth is set to Summer’s Rest in Pandaland, where there’s an engineers-only auctioneer, so I felt I could pass it up. Unless I find myself just rolling in gold someday, I don’t think I’ll ever complete that one.

Then again, I will have to redo my garrison eventually. I do want to build Laughing Skull rep. I’m at 700 Eng and probably at the point where I can replace the engineering shop. I’ll keep the JC for the daily. Once my minions are all 675, which will be soon, I might replace the War Mill. The Salvage Yard’s staying, and I want to bring back the Storehouse. Need to make a game plan.

About 3 gb of “future patch” stuff.

Is 6.2 about to go live any time soon?

It’s been on the PTR for 8 days. I think the time between PTR and live depends on how the testing is going, so who knows. Sounds like a good sign, though. Maybe after Monday 5/25 maintenance?

Wow. To paraphrase a certain demon hunter, “I am not prepared!”

Well, I can definitely advance on my main, no problem. But my 1st alt is still pretty far away from finishing the stage of the legendary quest chain he’s on (gathering elemental runes), and my only other lvl 100 hasn’t even started LFR’ing yet. (Hasn’t even finished the heroic dungeons portion of the legendary quest chain.)

I suspect they’ll get farther and farther behind because of all the time I’ll have to take in the new content, not to mention that old LFRs will probably have massively longer wait times. :frowning:

On the forums, they’re guessing anywhere between mid-June to mid-July. It’s not live today, that’s for sure.

Finally cleared Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider achievement (took 4 runs to get all criteria for Chromatic Champion), which was a dragon mount. And Deathwing dropped the Life-Binder’s Handmaiden, so that’s another dragon mount.

Still pretty far from the 250-mount achievement, though. :frowning:

And I’ve gotten Spine of Deathwing down to just one wipe before clearing. Alas, not wiping takes a lot of concentration, and I don’t really much like the raging “LEAVE ME ALONE I HAVE TO FOCUS ON THIS” asshole I become while doing it. So the sooner I can stop running that ridiculous encounter the better.

But not yet. One more mount to get from Deathwing! (Plus the drop off of Ultraxion, who is mercifully before Spine.)

Also, why does the RNG hate me? There aren’t that many transmog drops in that raid that’s very appealing to a hunter, but I saw absolutely none of it last run, and only one piece the run before. It’s been almost all plate armor and caster trinkets.

My warlock and mage are having similar trouble, farming Molten Core for T1. The last boss before Majordomo Wossname will not drop their robes.

The Swift White Hawkstrider finally dropped from Magister’s Terrace the other day, after a long dry spell on the RNG mounts. I always really coveted that mount for some reason, being Alliance. Not too many bird mounts for us that look like that.

Been trying my hand at PVP lately, running random BGs and even a few Rated BGs now that my PVP gear is shaping up. Might make a run at Primal Combatant, though my skills are pretty lacking for the high end competition. I’ve got 10 wins so far.

If you’re playing Alliance, your gear won’t matter much for PvP as your teammates can carry you until you can buy the 620 stuff, at least. In my experience, especially lately, Alliance wins more than 8/10 BGs. That means Alliance players are all able to gear up quickly, and thus continue the beatdown of Horde. Soon I expect to lose 9/10 games played, since I play Horde.

I’m well past the 620 PVP gear now, with a 5/5 set of conquest 660s, plus a couple other 660s and a few Warforged blues. Should be fully conquest 660s within the next few weeks.

I’m mostly in it (the rated battlegrounds) for the mounts - that Vicious Warsaber is a really nice-looking model, and will be awarded after 40 rated battleground wins, no matter how many losses I incur getting there.

Another mount is awarded at 75 wins.

I’ve given myself the challenge of running all old raids for pets, mounts, transmog gear, rep, and JC and Engineering recipes.

I just ran my last AQ40 last night and capped Brood of Nozdormu rep. This got my guild the United Nations achievement too. All 3 pets dropped within my first 3 runs so the last 2 weeks were just for rep.

On the way back, I hit up the Caverns of Time for the Culling of Stratholme for a transmog piece (no luck) and Hyjal. Hyjal has multiple JC recipes (both as drops and from the rep vendor) and pets. No new pets dropped, but I did get a bunch of JC recipes.

I stopped by Onyxia’s, but as expected, no mount dropped.

Finally, I ran Sunken Temple a few times – I’m trying to get the Stealthblade. Again, no luck, as expected – it’s a rare drop.

Karazhan is nearby, and there’s the mount and some pets there, but I loathe the chess event, so I’m putting it off. Same with Blackwing Lair, not a fan of the Razorgore encounter. Fortunately, I don’t want anything from that raid except to have completed it.

After these, there’s the BC, WotLK, Cata, and Panda instances. Between the quantity and rarity of these drops, it could take literally years to get everything I want.

And if this wasn’t enough, I’ve decided to be Nat Pagle’s best friend and fish up his damn lunkers. Maybe then I can convince that dumbass to stop drowning himself next to me when I fish. You just can’t pressure a girl like that, you know?

w00t! I finally got my priest to lvl 100! Though … I don’t think it has ever taken me this far into an expansion to get a second toon to max level (discounting Wrath, since that was the current expansion when I started playing, and I had to level through Vanilla and TBC and Wrath to get just one toon to max level, and I took my time with that because I wanted to explore everything. But by the end of Wrath, I had three max-level toons. By the end of Cata, I had seven, and by the end of MoP I had nine.

With all of this Garrison bullashit, I just don’t have the time to play my alts.

Also, umpteenth run through Molten Core, and my warlock still doesn’t have that T1 chestpiece.
