Edit: Never mind.
I’ll check that out.
I did the Invasion quests. I’m not particularly liking the GIANT GLOWY OUTLINE on the quest objectives and mobs…
It WAS unchecked and I have no idea why. I hadn’t even been in there.
Anyway, the new models are great. The female trolls BLINK now! No more creepy eternal stare. And the improvement in the male human faces isn’t even quantifiable. They actually don’t look like a cleft-palate convention now.
The experience required to level has been reduced. Pre-patch, my Warlock was 87.5 with very little rested bonus, post-patch he was 1 point shy of 88, with full rested bonus. I ran a few randoms and quested my way to 90 in about 3 hours. PVP queue was still broken.
That would explain how my warlock hit 82 on Tuesday. I’d gotten her to 80 on Saturday or Sunday, and to 81 during an extended session on Monday. But I hadn’t thought she was so close to 82 that she’d ding after only the short session she had on Tuesday. But she did. Granted, she’s wearing four heirlooms, but even that wasn’t enough to explain it.
To fix this issue, log completely out of the game and restart. It will cause the latest patch to be applied. I think they’ve applied a patch every day so far since release.
Oh, so that’s what happened to my Pally! I thought it was odd she was suddenly 1 XP shy of 89 last night.
I spent most of last night scrambling around trying to either update my add-ons for 6.0.2 or find similar add-ons that have already updated. The worst thing about a new expansion…
Y’know, I was thinking “Hey, this might be kinda interesting… haven’t played since MoP came out, and that only lasted long enough for me to finish the Panda quest line, maybe they’ve fixed the questing thing…”
Then I read this. Thank you!
I used it as an opportunity ditch quite a lot of mine.
Can’t do without my Grid + Clique though, as a healer. I even had to go in and manually change a .lua file because it’s currently broken!
I don’t know what I’m going to do about add-ons. A lot have been hurry-hurry fixed, but I still think some are subtly broke. And, of course, some are just broke from the get-go, or break as soon as they do anything (protected method errors seem to be very popular). And a lot of add-ons have been co-opted by integrated changes to the game, in classic Blizzard fashion, and in typical Blizzard fashion, done more poorly or awkwardly than the add-on they replaced.
I guess I’ll limp along, and maybe do some replacement research.
I would encourage you to play around with minimal add ons. Turn everything off, take a look at your UI, turn on just a few, do a dungeon, see how it feels.
One addon you should probably keep on is an error-catching one - I use Swatter.
I think they must have changed how and which realms are linked - because suddenly it’s crowded, everywhere I go.
Strange things are afoot in the Auction House, as well - it’s very empty of stuff, crafting materials, armor, potions - there’s very few items for sale in general. Seems like the usual amount of pets and recipes, though.
Unless the AH is broken, somehow, I have no idea how that would have happened, especially since the AH is supposed to be uber-linked now (Horde, Alliance & Neutral AH are all-in-one). Maybe there was an immediate run on crafting materials and such when servers went back up on Tuesday night?
Maybe people became drunk with the power of an entire 98-slot crafting reagent bank tab and went mad trying to fill it?
Especially since crafting mats seem to stack to levels unheard of in previous patches.
ETA: I haven’t checked (too busy trying to work out bugs in just playing the game), but has the reagent tab destroyed the utility of materials-specific uber-bags? I have engineering toolboxes and mining bags and leatherworking satchels galore, and they’re almost all empty now.
Because they’re almost all useless now. Just totally unnecessary.
Yeah, and that sucks because not only do most of my toons have such specific bags, but I used to make gold crafting and selling them.
>sigh<
Well, things change. And I do have a heck of a lot more bag and bank space now. I am definitely going to like the new reagent tab in the bank.
As for the Auction Houses - I noted that the patch negated all my pending auctions and returned the items to my toons. So that accounts for part of the lack of stuff. I’m also not inclined to start auctions until a few more days go by and there is less patch craziness and assume others feel the same. Call it a transition period, I’m sure we’ll be back to what passes as normal soon enough.
After two evenings of playing my level 86-88 hunter, the most noticeable combat change (besides losing some abilities like Serpent Sting) is my pet’s survivability. Pre-patch, my pet might die once per play session, if then; now, I’m reviving him frequently, and having to much, much more closely monitor his health and heal him - as in every second or third fight. No changes by me in spec or pet configuration.
Interface > Display > Outline Mode > Disable. This reverts things to sparklies.
Excellent! Thank you!
