I just got back from the mailroom…I’m in trouble. I’ve got a lot of artwork to do tonight…at least i had planned on doing that. But my copy of *Civilization II: Warlords * just got here. I held off ordering that when it was released because I always stay up too late thinking “just one more turn”.
I know from experience that if I load that game tonight I’ll spend all evening trying to conquer the world. I haven’t tried the expansion yet, obviously…anyone out there play it and if so how was it?
Geez, if even if I don’t load Civ 2:Warlords, the supply room called and told me a package from Amazon for me got redirected to them…and its probably *Neverwinter Nights II. *
In case you haven’t already played Civ 4, the big alteration is that city expenses grow quickly as you build more, so you’ll want to limit yourself to 6-10 cities.
When placing cities, use the special resources as much as possible, because they are not only far more productive, but allow certain units or have bonuses on health / happiness.
The main changes in Warlords are:
some Civilisation Leaders can produce settlers twice as fast
there is a new Great Leader unit (formed by combat against other Civilisations, not Barbarians or animals)
there is a new building for each individual Civilisation
there are regular scenarios and one hilarious challenge: be the Barbarians and wipe every Civilisation out!
