Warning! Don't buy from Shop4Tech.com!!!

I work for an educational service agency doing web design. I recently had to order some blank printable CD-R’s and Jewel cases. Here is what happened in chronological order:

April, 2002: I place an order for this stuff with a sales rep at Shop4Tech.com. When I get the stuff, I received the wrong CD-R’s. I called them and had them ship the correct ones and returned the wrong ones. Ok… they made a mistake. Everyone makes them.
Nov. 5: I place another order for printable CD-R’s and jewel cases via fax.

Nov. 20: I call them back because I’ve not received anything yet. They said they never received my first fax. I send it again.

Dec. 2: I receive a box of CD-R’s, but they are the wrong ones AGAIN. Yes, they have screwed up the order again. Twice is not an accident, it’s incompetence. I call their sales rep and she assures me she will send me via FedEx my CD-R’s and that they will send somone to pick up the ones that were erroniously sent to me, also my jewel cases are on their way. Everything should be here by Dec. 4.

Dec. 4: I get nothing in my mail today from Shop4Tech. I get on the phone with the sales rep again. She explains that she has no idea why I don’t have my stuff, but she will have both the CD-R’s and the jewel cases FedEx’d to me in 3 days. By this time, I’ve had about enough of this, so I call Shop4Tech back and ask for the guy in charge of their operation (Jerry). After being on hold for ever (and on a long distance phone call) I hang up and call him back later that afternoon. I explain that he has lost a customer because of the lousy service of his company. He said he would FedEx Next-Day-Air my CD-R’s and jewel cases. He even gives me a tracking number. I’m mad, but finally can see the light at the end of the tunnel… can’t I?

Dec. 5: Guess what! Not a frigging CD-R or jewel case to be seen. I call back Jerry and gues what: FedEx didn’t pick up my shipment yesterday. After everything that has happened that this guy knows has happened to me, he couldn’t make sure that his stupid-ass people would make sure to send out product to somone he knows full well is pissed at him? He tried to tell me it would be out to me by tommorow, but I had enough. Here is how my ranting went:
“No. All I’ve heard during this whole lousy experience is, ‘I’ll send it out right away,’ and guess what… it hasn’t showed up. Just forget it. I don’t want it. I don’t want to deal with you any more! Don’t send it out! Goodbye!” Click

So, don’t ever order anything from Shop4Tech.com.

Fucking assholes.

So does anyone know of a good place to buy Silver-printable 800 MB CD-R’s and Jewel Cases?

No first-hand experience, but how about here: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/dvd-rwmedia/cdr100white.html (4 1/2 star customer rated store) or here: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/value-emporium/prim53tufcoa1.html (5 star rated).

I just went to yahoo shopping and searched for “silver printable 800 mb CDR” and got 33 hits. One of them has to have what you want, I’d think.

Good luck!

When shopping for computer components to build a new system, I found this site invaluable:

Reseller Ratings

I have always had good experiences with Buy.com. May not be the absolute cheapest, but never had any shipping problems.

Wait, wait…you were able to get a real human on the phone? And they admitted they screwed up?? And they said they’d fix it, even if they were lying about it??? I’m there!!

My standards are pretty low these days.

I’m pretty happy with CDW. Every time I need something on the double at work, they’ll usually have it here the next day or so.

I’ll second CDW. Returning things, however, can be a bit of a pain, though.

Hmmm. This scenario all looks very similar to a story that hit the news earlier this year.

Y’all might want to proceed with caution…

LOL, nice link. Looks like somebody couldn’t make any money with an e-business, so he’s gonna make money suing people. Thank goodness lawyers are here to make dreams like that come true! I can’t believe that whining businessman got a $4500 settlement from one of the guys, absolutely amazing. That lawsuit was so frivolous I’d have thrown Rule 11 sanctions at the guy and his lawyer if I’d been the judge.
