Quick, somebody look up the trope for people engaging in retaliatory mocking when it’s been pointed out that they’re a lazy idiot!
Actually, being a geek has nothing to do with watching Star Wars and everything to do with reading websites featuring articles about old video games.
Of all the obnoxious link behavior here, pointing out it’s a TVtropes link isn’t something I’ve ever noticed, though I guess I would have assumed most people mouseover rather than clicking blindly. Links that are impervious to clarification via mouseover are much more annoying to me.
As for the site, I find it just a useless jumble.
Hey everybody, what do you think of this link: WARNING: DO NOT CLICK!!!?
That one was more helpful. You are not a douche anymore.
OK, the results of my investigation are that there’s some generic search page there. You’ll be billed for my services.
Don’t bother billing me: I found your generic search page.
That’s because it is a bad thing.
It’s the only thing that will get the sand out of your vagina. The very first post in this thread makes it pretty fucking clear that TV Tropes is a website, and the warnings aren’t of a “Danger! Totally gross pictures that will get you fired are on this website!” nature. Unless you have some completely alternate interpretation of what “obligatory cutesy presumption that TV Tropes is soooo entertaining and addicting” might mean, you’re just a lazy sack of shit for not doing a simple fucking google search.
Thank you. Consider this retort stolen.
None of this is true, and you have many bad qualities.
Yeah, I’ve never gotten the TV Tropes thing. And I love TV and timewasters, so I don’t think it’s me.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen somebody get crabby about bringing up TV Tropes. I can see that you don’t find it that interesting. But if Anti-TV-Tropes-Hag is now a thing, I think they need a TV Tropes page about it.
It’s just the latest in a long string of needing to be reassured that one isn’t a geek and by extension sad and lonely.

BTW, I just looked at that site, and I hate it.
