Was I daydreaming or did I actually see

a TV commercial for a feminine product, featuring a couple in a small rowboat. Suddenly the a hole appears in the bottom of the boat and water starts gushing into the boat. While the guy looks around for something, the woman reaches into her purse and pulls out a box of * , then plugs it into the hole, stopping the leak and absorbing the water that had puddled in the bottom

What happened to the images of horseback riding, frolicing in the surf, riding a bike? Ye gods what’s going on? (The joke about the kid wanting to buy a tampon because he thought it meant he’d be able to ride a horse or go surifing won’t work anymore).

(If this is real, the follow-up should show the boat in a dried up pond, with fishes flopping around in the now dried up hole in the ground).

You saw it. I forget the brand, but if my wife had the kind of flow that would fill a boat, we’d have more to worry about than what brand of tampon to get.

My young daughter saw those commercials with all the outdoors activities, an related fun times to what they were selling, she said “I want some of those, they look like fun, think of how fun riding horses would be…”

You know, I gotta say, I think I liked it. I mean, it does illustrate their point slightly better than, say, 2 women playing tennis and just looking comfortable. (They could be faking after all.)

There was an episode of In Living Color, once, that was advertising the new maxipad “Vortex”. The woman jumps in the pool and not only dries it up, but sucks in some swimmers and patio furniture with it. That’s exactly the first thing I thought when I saw it.

the commercial is selling tampax brand. which is rather humourous as tampax are known for getting longer when wet, not wider.
