Was it mentioned that The Dec 4th US News & World Report listed the SD site?

Was this ever announced on SDMB?

The Dec 4th US News & World Report had a 32 page special on the best of the Web. The SD site (not SDMB per se, but the site with the columns and the link to SDMB) was listed in the information section under a “Don’t Miss” banner.

I tried to find an on-line link, but just got this far.

I typed in “best web” and “last month” and got to the right edition, but not the exact page. I forgot the category:eek:

Can anyone find the final link? Thanks

[pausing in a happy tap dance to bump this]

[sub][Note: I followed Ed’s guidelines on excerpts: “You are permitted to …© post short excerpts from it–say, a paragraph or so–provided the excerpted portion does not constitute all or most of the article,” in this case one paragraph out of 30]

Immediately above it they mention this:

SHARED INTERESTS
http://www.deja.com/usenet The Internet is home to thousands of discussion forums, or newsgroups, devoted to specific topics and passions. This site will help you find the ones you want–rec.juggling, for instance, if you’re looking for tips on the proper form for a three-ball cascade. Besides “rec”–short for recreation–other major categories include “alt” (for alternative, as in anything goes) and “talk” (discussion groups).

Has anyone been to those message boards?
Do they answer the same kinds of questions Cecil does?

That’s quite nifty. Hell, that redefines nifty.
