Here’s my diagnosis and prescription.
The UserName “Cap’n Crude” makes some posters nervous…they’re afraid you’re going to say something off-color or unpolished, so they avoid you and tend not to respond to your questions.
So you should get busy starting threads about the Oil Business. Wax poetic on the wide Texas Plains, the thrum of the pumps, the romanticism of striking a huge rich gusher.
Soon the rest of us will start visualizing you as James Dean in GIANT, only wearing a pirate hat…handsome, self-confident, a smudge of Black Gold there, just highlighting your left cheekbone. “Cap’n CRUDE…Swashbuckler of the Panhandle” everyone will start thinking.
People will be falling all over themselves to post after you. And the chicks will go wild.

Tempting suggestion, Ike. Only one problem – I’ve never been to Texas (or the oil fields of the Middle East), and my ignorance would be as obvious as FORMERAGENT’s double-naught operative persona.
Maybe I could expound on the stimulating hustle and bustle of The Big Apple, a la Carl Sandberg and Chicago? Of course, Sandberg was profoundly gay, and tended not to attract the women-folk. I’d hate to get that mixed up.
Now, if only I could figure out a way to post as my world-famous Eric Cartman impression … one of my more endearing talents.
