I watched ‘The Color of Friendship’ with my students. Kind of cheesy, but a cute and heartwarming movie.
The IMDB claims that this movie is based on a true story, and one of the user comments says that the real Mahree Bok, on her return to South Africa, was immediately interrogated, tortured, and killed by the police.
I couldn’t find any mention of this story using Google. Does anyone know if there’s any truth to it?
I’m not sure, if it turns out to be true, that I should tell my students.
