Was Marilyn Monroe murdered?

I just watched a rather convincing 48-minute video about the murder of Marilyn Monroe. It seems there are many MANY witnesses, including Peter Lawford, who eventually came forth to set the record straight about the night Marilyn died.

She was visited that day by Robert Kennedy, who discouraged her from going public about her affairs with the Kennedy brothers, injected her with a sedative and then with the help of henchmen searched her house for a famous red diary.

Later, EMTs were summoned to Marilyn’s house; she was revived; her psychiatrist Dr. Ralph Greenson then injected a large needle into her heart (breaking a rib!?), killing her. The body and pill bottles were staged. The police and coroner were summoned several hours later. Greenson wanted to cover up his own affair with Marilyn, but also acted at the encouragement of RFK. Even if untrue, whoever concocted the story is pretty good at fiction!

It all sounds too far-fetched and I’m sure most of you are laughing at me! But the video would have to be full of lies if it were untrue, and it cites over a dozen eye-witnesses including Marilyn’s housekeeper, various detectives, and so on, to substantiate parts of this story.
I won’t try to summarize the detailed allegations in the video beyond this, nor did I Google for a text version of this story.
(If Dopers have no interest in this story beyond calling septimus a gullible idiot, I ask Mods to transfer the thread to BBQ Pit.)

I ain’t got the internet Jimmy to watch a 5-minute video. Sorry.

We’ll never know, but I think it’s a very real possibility. She could have brought down an entire dynasty because society back then was much less tolerant about those things than the society of today. Look what Chappaquiddick did to Ted Kennedy.

Marilyn Monroe was murdered by the same shooter seen on the grassy knoll.

Thank you for your contribution. I expect it to be more favorable than most efforts here. I’m glad that you had the Jimmy to spend 20 seconds engaging with the thread.

Pro-tip: The 48-minute video lasts only 36 minutes if you set speed to 1.5X.

Not sure if you are being a Dick or not. My Sarcasm Detector is in the shop. However, my ‘contribution’ is a way of saying,* “Interesting topic. Thanks for bringing it up. I’d like to weigh-in with an opinion after taking the time to read your post, however, am not able to view the video.”*

My Pro-tip: A 36-minute video will take about 4 hours with poor internet connection, and will likely kill the last 4 or 5 days of service at the end of the month.

I’ll see you around. And that 20 of engaging actually took about 4 minutes. And so did this.

And what about this is implausible?

Huge impact! He served 40 more years in the US Senate.

Yeah, but he wanted to be President.

Nostradamus predicted he would be president. The Chappaquiddick controversy was so effective, it changed the future! [/tongue firmly in cheek]

Ouch! I apologize.

I live in rural Thailand and get unlimited 4Mbps for $22/month(). I guess I should consider myself lucky! (That’s via phone. It should be faster and/or cheaper when fiber-optic lines are finally hooked up.)
(
- We actually pay about TWICE that since my son needs his own dedicated connection for gaming.)

Meanwhile, what’s the over-under on how many people responding will have even skimmed the video? One? I think I shall bet on the Under.

Holy Mackerel! That’s almost worth moving there for!

Yes. Strom Thurmond had it done & had them use the same rifle on JFK.

When GOP scum used to slither down from DC and visit, he’d pull that rifle out of the rifle case to show off and brag.

That video has been around for at least 5 years. All the powerful people who might have prevented a real investigation by the DA or a cold case team are no longer around, so if they have all that evidence, why hasn’t an investigation at least been started?

Videos are made to make money, not to start investigations.

Unlikely in the extreme.

I’m not naive enough to believe in conspiracies. Especially ones that take decades to be revealed. But I do know enough about human nature to know that people don’t behave like Marvel Comics villains.

She may have been murdered. I don’t know. I find an accidental overdose or even suicide more likely. Even if she was murdered, the circumstances you described above seem unlikely. Killed by RFK himself. Then revived. Then killed a second time. I can’t fathom that.

That was my impression from the OP as well. It’s a very complicated murder story for someone who was likely to kill herself anyway.

I don’t understand how one can get people to believe anything so long as it’s in the form of a YouTube video. Have you independently googled any of the claims therein to see if they’ve been debunked already? Try googling “debunking Marilyn Monroe murder conspiracy” or variations before asking us to do your work for you.

This is why there are so many 911-truthers. They see the convincing YouTube videos and don’t stop to look up anything that might debunk what has been debunked for decades already.

Marilyn Monroe hada history of emotional problems.

It has been investigated. In 1982 there was an investigation by the LA DA. No evidence of foul play was found.

If only the DA had had a “fairly convincing” 48 minute Youtube video to watch!
