This was my vote, it was perfect acting chemistry between those two and the father-daughter interaction was completely convincing.
I loved that bit. I love the whole movie, and think it was his best role. “I’ve never just talked to a woman. It’s nice.” “Mom! You’ve turned him into a wimp!”
Arnold was very touching in “Commando” when he told Solly that he lied when he said he was going to kill him last. Has me all teary-eyed every week when I watch this classic.
It’s why his character in that movie is named John Matrix: it was a subtle announcement that, for the first time, he was going to be playing a role that wasn’t one-dimensional.
