Would blacks and minorities be more comfortable at Becks rally or Comedy Central’s? That is an easy answer. The people that hate them are at Becks. There is no threat at Stewarts. Women in Burkhas were at the Comedy Central rally. They would be terrified to show at a tea bagger event. They would be right to be afraid.
No. The OP is simply wrong. There are plenty of black people in the photo and if we could see detail, even more “non-white” people would be visible.
Second, the tea baggers are a bunch of racists for the things that they say. Tea baggers are against government handouts, except the social security and medicare handouts that they are getting, which are “socialist” because they are going to people unlike themselves. And that means non-white people.
That doesn’t mean that all conservatives are racists. They’re not. But conservatives who are only applying their hard-hearted bigotry to people who are only different from them in the color of their skin or ethnic origin are racists.
Perhaps the OP would like to expound on why he thinks so few non-white folks seem to be on board with the Tea Partiers.
Maybe it was just weird coincidence that mainly white folks suddenly woke up to the fact that the deficit had been run up from 56.4% of GDP to 83.4% of GDP under GW Bush.
And the really weird coincidence part is that they figured this out (and the whole “pork” money wasting thing) on January 24, 2009, just a few days after Obama’s inauguration.
Man, that was some bad luck timing for him wasn’t it!
So far, so good.![]()
I predict that if Republicans get their wish and they retake the White House and Congress, two things will happen:
Because nonwhites massively benefit from social welfare programs which transfer wealth from whites to nonwhites. Why would we expect blacks and Hispanics to join such a movement? I sure wouldn’t. But the idea that it’s “racist” is a joke that could only have been produced by the deranged leftist mind. And for an illustration of that, look no further than this rhetorical question: would any tea party protester, any “conservative” talk show host like Beck or Hannity, any Republican political candidate, come within a hundred miles of saying what I just said? No; their overarching desire is to appear as non-racist as possible. These people cannot stop telling us how non-racist they are, how inclusive and tolerant, how they decry discrimination as much as liberals do. They pose for ridiculous photos like this; they designate their rallies in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., they constantly accuse liberals of being racist and of being the ones who are truly out to hurt nonwhites. In reality, they are liberals themselves; if they weren’t, they would drop all that and stick (or bitterly cling) to their guns when the left accuses them of “racism.” I can only wish mainstream conservatives were half as racially aware as the left accuses them of being.
No, but it probably should have been.
Given that there is no coherent debate in thisthread, but there isa lot of personal animosity, I am shutyting it down with a suggestion that those of you who need to express hostility go open a BBQ Pit thread.
