Last night I watched a re-run of one of the zillion Law & Order spin offs.
This episode had to do with prostitution. The governor died of a hear attack while getting a massage but drugs were suspected as well. There was some kind of madam that set up the prostitutes trysts but also has a goat cheese farm.
Towards the end of the episode the Law & Order gang are warned that they didn’t know how deep this scandal ran, and that they were playing with fire.
The last scene of the show was Cragen waking up in bed with blood on his hands and a [dead] woman with her throat cut next to him. The end, roll credits.
WTF?
There was no “To be continued” or anything. Was there more to that scene? The next episode played had nothing to do with that one! So what happened next?
This. The OP is describing the cliffhanger at the end of season 13 (which my wife and I also watched last night). It was such a ‘holy shit’ ending that I too browsed future Tivo listings and didn’t see the season 14 opener (“Lost Reputation”) coming up anytime in the next two weeks. I ended up buying it on Amazon Instant so we could watch it right away. Instant gratification, ya know?
I saw the same rerun last night. It was immediately followed by another episode…but not the one that should have followed it sequentially. So thanks pkbites for starting this thread, because I was also wondering what happened next.
Funny thing I’ve noticed with some syndicated shows- they run sort of in order, but by the timeslot. That is, if you watch only the 8pm episodes they’re in order, and so are the 9 pm epiodes. But the 8pm episodes
(and why don’t the Law and Order packages ever include the Homicide half of the crossovers?)
I am watching Law and Order:SVU and a recent episode was about the Kelly Giddish character’s sister, who is a prostitute who stabbed a couple of people and so on. The episode ended with her sister in jail saying she was going to use all kinds of negative information about KG as part of a plea deal (and that her attorney was going to marry her). Is there a follow-up to that episode? I am watching them in order.
Worst thing is when the story is spread across several franchises, eg Criminal Intent, SVU, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, etc. Good luck connecting those dots up in reruns!
