Was this music used in a movie?

I’ve tried searching the IMDB and soundtrack.net, but didn’t find anything. Of course, not all songs that are in a movie are always listed on the soundtrack.

The piece in question is the second movement of Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto No. 5 (BWV 1056). I recall it played on a piano. I know it’s pretty similar to the more-famous Sinfonia of BWV 156, but that’s not what I’m looking for.

Here’s a recording, played a bit slower than I recall being used in the movie.

I know the song well, but cannot recall it having been used in a movie. FWLIW, Wiki doesn’t say anything about any cinematic use: Keyboard concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach - Wikipedia

I remember Slaughterhouse Five runs the opening credits to it.

It was in Hannah and Her Sisters, but I don’t think that was a piano version.

In this youtube video you’ve linked to, one of the comments below the video says that it is used in Hannah and Her Sisters.

Amazon listing for the Hannah and Her Sisters soundtrack.

Very pretty and a great selection, though I never saw Hanna And Her Sisters. I’m more of a Beethoven kinda-guy when it comes to the classics, but I admit I need to check out some Bach as well.

Great post, btw!

It sounds best played by a chamber orchestra . . . definitely not piano.

That’s it! The Glenn Gould recording really seemed like the one I remembered, too. (Also should have noticed the Youtube comments; I was just looking for a way for people to identify it). On edit: I suppose I should have clarified that only the harpsichord part was played on piano, not the orchestra part as in the Youtube video I linked.
