Yep. No big deal, though. I use a throwaway address for all e-commerce and used to phishing safeguarding habits.
Yes, I got two warning e-mails, but if all they have is my e-mail address, I’m not concerned. I get spam all the time anyway and I know how to recognize phishing.
I too have a warning from McKinsey about the stolen ID. And a couple of more mails selling viagra in my spam box.
Huh. I was about to say I wasn’t affected, but I checked the spam filter just to say I did (which I otherwise pretty much never do), and there are 17 emails over the last 30 days with notices from either DHL or FedEx with tracking information for packages I never ordered…
No notices from any legit companies, though. I have found Yahoo’s spam filter to be quite effective. My inbox doesn’t get spam.
I got a similar email, from Ritz Carlton, notifying me that my name and email address was stolen when someone accessed their files.

That’s my take on the whole issue, so I would like to suggest that if/when you start getting those phishing emails that you come back to this thread to post about it. That way we’ll have some verification of the time it will have taken before the effects are worth noting.
I’ll go out on a limb and say it will be a minimum of a few weeks. Maybe a month or longer.
The only e-mail I got warning me about the breach was from Air Miles. It’s hard to say whether I am getting any spam as a direct result; I have several messages in my Junk folder about Vi@gra and young ladies with interesting habits, but those come in spurts (:D) anyway, so they may be unrelated.
Chase. I don’t seem to be getting any spam though.
Twice so far. both notifications appear to be legit. It’s OK, though, they only collected my ‘junk mail email’ addy…
My husband and I have each gotten notifications from a couple of places we do business with. Nobody has phished us yet.
