Washing hair question.

Why is my hair all fluffy after I’ve washed it?Is there anyway to prevent it from happening?

Try washing it and letting it air dry. If you’re using a blow dryer that can make it fluffy.

I didn’t use a hair dryer.

Try using a shampoo for normal or dry hair, or with a conditioner. Or a separate conditioner.

heat constricts the hair cuticle, stiffening the hair shaft and making it fluffier looking when most hairs are a little stiffer.

How long do the effects last?

Also, washing with hot water and shampoo removes oils and dirt that weight hair down, and bind it together.

A few hours, but the benefits of a washing last a day.

Some hair stylists use a pomade (?) or a “dirt” because many of their clients like the less fluffy hair that comes from a little build up. Someone even patented ‘dirt’ to put in hair after a wash leaves it too fluffy and oil/dirt free.

Thats what I must of done because I did wash my hair with hot water…so if i wash it with cold water from now on it might not go as fluffy?

read about “dirt” …should shed light on the OP GQ

Is it best to wash my hair before I go to the Hair dressers?

Washing alone makes it fluffy to a degree because you are still removing dirt/oils.
